All vehicles with an immobiliser will need new keys to be programmed to the vehicle before they can start the engine.   Immobilisers were introduced from 1995 and any vehicle from then onwards will have one.  Programming procedures vary between different vehicle manufacturers, some vehicles require PIN/Immo code access, dealer only keys, precoded keys or Eeprom work.  The vehicles immobiliser will only accept the correct transponder chip which relates to what type of key you have.  Remote's are normally separate to the transponder chip and will need to be programmed separately,  for example if your remote buttons stop working chances are your key will still start the engine as the transponder is a separate part.   We provide the service to programme the majority of these types of keys and also request any access codes that may be required.

Key Cloning is where a new key can be produced for the vehicle using an existing key, there is no programming involved.  Cloning is generally found on older vehicles, pre 2005 and works by copying the existing data on a working transponder and writing it to a new one.
